Big News Here at Immersive

The momentum here at Immersive is palpable. Just a few weeks ago, we launched our new brand and Immersive One platform, reflecting our broader mission of helping the world’s largest organizations be ready for the future of cyber threats. We’re disrupting legacy training and leading the way in empowering every role across every workforce with the cyber capabilities they need to confront rising cyber attacks and providing our customers with the data to prove it. 

Cyber drills – realistic exercises designed to continuously prove and improve organizational cyber resilience across all teams and functions – are central to our vision, and our research shows the vast majority (94%) of cyber leaders are adopting them to prepare their people for threats. We’ve won , industry analysts are recognizing the value we offer, and we recently appointed former Barclays CISO, Oliver Newbury, to our board. These are just a few examples of a business blazing new trails and gaining ground.

But, for a founder who understands that resting on our laurels is never an option, the question remains: how do we continue to drive growth and value for our customers and partners?

Welcome Mark Schmitz as Immersive’s New CEO!

Today, I'm excited to share another significant step in our journey to scale Immersive to the next level. We’ve decided to bring on Mark Schmitz as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Mark brings over 25 years of experience in the enterprise software market, with a proven track record of scaling companies and driving customer value. He most recently served as President at Collibra and Interim CEO at Citrix Systems, and has held senior leadership roles at SAP, Ariba, and Accenture. His expertise spans business operations, sales, customer success, digital transformation, and marketing.

When searching for a new CEO to lead Immersive, I wanted someone that I could partner with that has strong values and will do what’s right for this amazing team and for our customers.

Mark will join us as CEO on Monday, March 17. His experience will be invaluable as we expand our market reach and extend our leadership position in our industry. I look forward to working with him.

I’m Not Going Anywhere - My Focus on Innovation

My passion for Immersive's vision remains as strong as ever. In this next chapter, I will remain on Immersive’s board and transition to the role of Founder and Chief Innovation Officer. This role will allow me to focus on what I love most: driving our strategic vision, fostering innovation, and engaging with our customers and the broader market.

This transition will allow me to dedicate my energy to the areas where I can make the greatest impact, while Mark will bring his expertise to mature our operations and drive our growth strategy.

What’s Next?

While today’s news may come as a surprise, I’m confident now is the right time to make this decision to accelerate our momentum and capitalize on the huge opportunity before us, while continuing to help our amazing global customers achieve their cyber readiness goals. 

Customers will benefit as we accelerate our focus on new capabilities that support value expansion and realization.

I am incredibly enthusiastic about this next chapter and look forward to continuing to build the future of Immersive together. Looking back on the incredible journey we’ve taken at Immersive so far – starting from a shipping container in Bristol, UK 8 years ago – I’m more excited than ever for this next chapter and the future we’ll build together with Mark.
